Mr Amit Kotecha -- MBBS, MRCS, FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) is specialist Hip and Knee surgeon at Spire Little Aston Hospital/ Spire Parkway, Solihull/ BMI Priory hospitals. He specialises in treating adult hip and knee pathologies.

He undertakes posterior approach for hip replacements sparing the important hip abductor muscles, helping for a speedy recovery and excellent postoperative outcomes for patients. He implements an enhanced recovery programme after hip and knee replacements for safe and quicker recovery of the patients. He is a full time NHS Hip and Knee Consultant University Hospitals of Birmingham.

He had a successful Consultant practice at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton before moving close to home at Birmingham.

He is a Honorary Associate Clinical Professor in the Institute of Clinical Sciences within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham.

His Basic surgical training was in south east London at University Hospital Lewisham where I completed my MRCS. My Higher specialist Orthopaedic training was in the West Midlands on prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme leading to FRCS (Trauma &Orthopaedics) and CCST. I have undertaken Advanced Arthroplasty (Joint replacement) Fellowship at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.

Academic interests:
He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with University of Leicester. He delivers Lectures at numerous national and international meetings. He has published multiple papers in Scientific Journals. He is faculty on various undergraduate and post graduate teaching courses.
